DCI issues statement over Alfred Keter’s arrest

The Directorate of Criminal investigations (DCI) now claims that Former Nandi Hills member of Parliament Alfred Keter was arrested over charges of Conspiracy to Traffic Firearms and Incitement to Violence.

This comes amidst public uproar after the former legislator was arrested on Sunday afternoon by hooded NPS officers around Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kileleshwa.

Members of the public took to social media claiming that Keter was abducted due to his consistent criticism to the Kenya Kwanza Administration and his support to the Anti – Finance bill protests.

LSK President Faith Odhiambo secured the release of Keter from Kamkunji police station where he had been booked pending Forensic Analysis of exhibits.

Odhiambo was accompanied by Embakasi East member of Parliament Babu Owino.

Meanwhile Keter’s file will be forwarded to the ODPP for further investigations. direction.

Police are further urging members of the public to refrain from acts of violence and hate speech to maintain peace.
