Simon Gikuru has expressed his gratitude to President William Ruto, after being appointed as State House Deputy comptroller.
The former Amani National Congress (ANC) Secretary General will server under Katoo Ole Metito, who is the State House comptroller.
Gikuru pledged to put this best foot forward, in as far as serving Kenyans is concerned.
“I thank His Excellency President William Samoei Ruto most sincerely for according me the chance to serve as the Deputy Comptroller of State House and more so for believing in young people. I shall put my best foot forward and make my fellow youth proud as I serve our great country,” he stated as per a Wednesday post on X.
On Tuesday evening, Ruto made two new appointments to the Executive following the approval of the Public Service Commission (PSC).
The Head of State appointed Lazarus Amayo as the Special Envoy of the African Union Championship for Institutional Reforms, and named Gikuru as the State House Deputy Comptroller.
State House Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei said that Amayo’s appointment was made in order to “support the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs in steering the President’s unique mandate as the African Union Champion for Institutional Reform.”
“The Special Envoy is expected to play a critical role in driving AU’s institutional reforms in liaison with the State Department for Foreign Affairs and the African Union institutions,” he added.
Amayo is the outgoing Ambassador of Kenya to the United States, based in Washington DC.
On the other hand, Gikuru is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over a decade of experience in law, management, strategic planning, policy formulation, financial administration, consultancy, logistics, and conflict resolution.
“With the immense expertise and experience of the newly appointed officials, the Head of State and Government is confident that the two public officers will contribute enormously towards the realization of our shared aspirations for a fair, just, and equitable nation with shared prosperity for all, as espoused in the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA),” said Koskei.
