Students who did not secure a placement to any of the choices they applied for through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Placement Service (KUCCPS) have an opportunity to apply again.

Applications for the placement were done on February and early March this year.

According to The Placement Service, with the conclusion of the first application circle, the unlucky students can try their luck once more.

In a statement on their social media pages, the agency said their portal was now open for the first revision.

It is targeting not only individuals that applied and failed to secure a placement but also those that had not applied. The application is for Universities, middle level colleges as well as the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC).

“The KUCCPS application portal is open for the First Revision of applicants’ choices for placement to Universities, TVET Institutions, Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) and the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC),” the agency said on Monday.

It however said the portal will remain open until April 4, 2024.

KUCCPS had allowed Form Four leavers with any KCSE Mean Grade from year 2000 to 2023 who have never enrolled to tertiary institutions through their system to apply.

However, such individuals are only eligible to apply for TVET courses.

Meanwhile, learners that applied for placement in February and March have been advised to check their applications status.

“Those who submitted applications in February/March 2024 should confirm the status of their applications by logging into the KUCCPS Student’s Portal students.kuccps.net,” the agency said.

Applications for candidates to join university and colleges started early unlike the previous years following a new directive from the Ministry of Education.

The students are also being admitted to the institutions of higher learning based on a new grading system that focused on best performed subjects for a learner – with only two compulsory subjects.
