The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has announcement opportunities for 1,500 young Kenyans.
KWS said the positions are open for interested Kenyans to apply.
In a notice posted on its social media pages, the agency said out the 1,500 slots available, 150 are for Cadets (Assistant Wardens) shile 1,350 are for rangers.
KWS further said it is looking to recruit individuals who can train and work in remote areas.
“The Service operates in remote environment and seeks to recruit 1,500 young and dynamic individuals as Cadets (Assistant Warden I) – 150 and Rangers – 1,350 who can endure the condition for training and deployment to various conservation areas in response to the wildlife protection challenges currently being experienced in the country,” it said in part of the notice.
Young Kenyans interested in the positions have been advised to obtain the prescribed application form free of charge from either the nearest KWS National Park/Station or download from the KWS website.
KWS is a state agency mandated to conserve and manage National Parks, Sanctuaries and wildlife in the Country and enforce related Laws and Regulations.
Who is eligible for the KWS jobs?
According to the job advertisement, an individual applying for the Cadet job must have a Bachelor’s Degree in among others Wildlife Management, Natural Resources Management, Veterinary and Environmental Sciences and be below 28 years.
For the rangers, the minimum requirement is a D Plan in KCSE and if age between 18 and 26 years.
How to apply
An interested Kenyan will be required to obtain a prescribed application form from KWS website and fill it.
The application should be accompanied with relevant academic and professional certificates, testimonials, National Identity Card and a detailed CV.
Dully filed application forms together with the attachment are then expected to be send to the Director General KWS before April 8, 2024.
