Man killed, body dumped near his house with missing body part

Police in Oyugis have collected a body of a man believed to have been killed and his body dumped a few foot steps away from his rented house.

The body which the police have identified to be that of 35-year-old Evans Okoda was lying in a compound at Rawinji in the outskirts of Oyugis town with multiple machete cuts injuries on his head, and face.

Joram Collins, area assistant chief said the man’s wife had stumbled on the body in the morning when she was leaving the house.

“The man’s right palm was chopped off and was missing,” Lilies Wachira Rachuonyo south sub county police commander said.

She said police have removed the body from the scene and taken it to Rachuonyo sub county hospital for postmortem examination.

Mr Okoda has been a bodyguard to several local politicians at different times.

Philiph Aroko, the MP aspirant for Kasipul constituency addressing residents in Oyugis town over the incident said Okoda might have been killed for political reasons.

Aroko called on the police to carry out an in-depth investigation to apprehend the people responsible for Okoda’s death.
