In a remarkable turn of fate, a 25-year-old man’s attempt take his own life failed after a passerby came to his rescue before he gasped for his last breath.
Preliminary reports into the incident indicated that, the man was found dangling from a tree and kicking helplessly as he gasped for life in Silibwet Trading Centre, in Bomet county during a botched attempt to commit suicide.
Bomet township location chief Reuben Ngetich recounted the harrowing incident, stating, “The man who happened to be passing by the tree saw the victim dangling on a tree, gasping for breath and kicking helplessly. So, he rushed to help.”
The swift action of this bystander proved to be instrumental in saving the man’s life.
The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was reportedly on the verge of death when he was rescued.
He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in Silibwet Trading Center, where he is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries.
As of now, it remains unclear what prompted the man to attempt such a drastic act. Authorities are yet to ascertain the underlying reasons behind the attempted suicide.
