Moses Kuria seeks for forgiveness from Kenyans

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has asked for forgiveness from Kenyans.

Kuria in a post on his verified X handle on Tuesday asked any Kenyan he might have offended to forgive him.

In an apparent reference to a decision by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to ask for forgiveness from former first lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta, the CS said all politicians should apologize to all Kenyans.

He argues that the move will cleanse the country from demons of divisive politics.

“To exorcise the demons of divisive politics of the past, we should apologise to ALL Kenyans from ALL communities,” Kuria said.

“I offer my full and unqualified apology to any Kenyan from ALL communities that I may have wronged in the past,” he added.

On Monday, DP Gachagua publicly asked for forgiveness from Mama Ngina.

The former first lady was among individuals that the Kenya Kwanza coalition targeted in their smear campaign.

According to the DP, the attacks against Mama Ngina came as a result of dirty politics that was at play in the run up to the 2022 general election.

However, the DP said he does not wish to witness a repeat of such cases in the future especially within the Mouth Kenya region.

“In 2022, politics had deteriorated to a deplorable state. There was a regrettable lack of respect, with insults being hurled at Mama Ngina, and I’m very sorry for that. We humbly request her forgiveness,” DP Gachagua said.

He spoke during an interview with a local Radio station at his Karen official residence.

The election was President William Ruto face off with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. Raila had the support of then-President Uhuru Kenyatta while most Mount Kenya leaders including Gachagua sided with Ruto.
