Police in Busia have confiscated 415Kg sacks of bhang estimated to ve worth Ksh. 13 million while two suspected traffickers slipped away.
The drugs were seized during a patrol operation on Wednesday at the Ratike area along the Busia-Kisumu road upon which the police officers came across the abandoned sacks.
A DCI statement indicates that the two suspects supposedly abandoned the drugs upon sighting the police officers.
The statement further reveals that the suspects hid inside tickets surrounding the crime scene hoping that the police would stumble giving them a chance to flee with their illegal possessions.
The police however camped in the area until a truck arrived and transit the drugs as exhibit to the Busia police station.
Meanwhile, a man haunt has been launched to smoke out the suspected traffickers who are still at large.
