Setback for Omanyala as Sponsor Cuts Ties

Sports management Company, DBA Africa, has cut ties with the Kenyan printer Ferdinand Omanyala days after he cliched the title of fastest man in Africa.

According to a press release by the DBA Africa, the company highlighted its important role in the stars journey to success to this point where he has become of global interest.

The company stated that it has enabled the athlete in local ,continental and intercontinental championships including the recent one that propelled him to fame.

“We are proud to have played a huge role in enabling him to compete around the continent resulting in attaining four qualifying times for the Tokyo Olympic Games and achieving many national records and personal best,” part of the statement read .

Speaking to a local channel, DBA Africa said it terminated its engagement with the athlete citing difference in value sets represented by each faction. 

Speaking to a local daily, the company revealed that the two parties parted ways due to a disparity in interests.

“Yes, we have parted ways with Omanyala. We don’t share the same values, co-values, and vision,” an officer at DBA Africa told the publication.

Omanyala ran for 9.77 seconds during the Kip Keion Classics held in Nairobi two weeks ago, coming second behind American Treyvon Bromell who clocked 9.76 seconds.

The African 100 metres record holder was as a result of the impressive feat gifted a brand new car and Ksh1.5 million token by sports betting firm Odibets.
