Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has fired a salvo at UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala.
This follows a statement that Malala issued on Wednesday that seemed to address ongoing political tension within the ruling coalition.
The UDA SG, in the lengthy statement, singled out two Cabinet Secretaries – Kipchumba Murkomen and Moses Kuria – whom he accused of engaging in politics contrary to the legal provisions.
He also accused Sudi, alongside Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba and Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga of engaging in unacceptable behaviour.
“Your recent conduct not only undermines the party’s unit but also disrespects the leadership that you pledged to serve,” Malala said in part of the statement.
But in his response, the vocal legislator accused the ruling party’s Secretary General of suffering from illusionary superiority.
Sudi also noted that Malala thought he had the same power as was the case with former Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju.
Tuju was one of the most powerful individuals during the last few months of the Jubilee party reign.
“Elevated MCA suffering from illusory superiority, thinking he matches Raphael Tuju’s caliber,” the Kapseret MP said in response to a statement Malala issued.
Sudi has been at the centre of the ongoing political war within the Kenya Kwanza coalition.
It is believed he is among the Rift Valley politicians that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was referring to when he claimed they were out to destabilise the Mount Kenya leadership.
“The problem is a few leaders of this region who have proximity to the president. Mnakoroga siasa ya huko kwetu, kudanganya watu ati waanze kupanga mambo ya 2032,” the second in command said.
While in Eldoret, the DP sounded a warning to the leaders, whom he noted had proximity to President William Ruto.
But in response, the legislator insisted that he would continue moving around the country as it was the reason Kenya Kwanza won the 2022 general election.
“You cannot control where I go. If we all stayed in our respective constituencies then we could not be in government. We had to fly all over the country to ask Kenyans to elect this government. I am not someone you can threaten. I have been threatened enough and this does not move me,” Sudi said.
