Prominent Lawyer Donald Kipkorir has expressed his satisfaction with the manner in which Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Prof Kithure Kindiki is executing his mandate.
Kipkorir argues that so far, Kindiki stands out as the most humble public servant in Kenya.
In a post on his verified X handle, the senior counsel pointed out that despite being a high learner individual, the powerful CS never brags about his titles.
“History will rank Kithure Kindiki as one of the most humble top Public Servants Kenya has ever had,” the lawyer said.
“He is a Professor of Law yet never calls himself or adds the title to his name,” he added.
The Ministry of Interior is one of the most powerful dockets in the country.
But despite the huge influence and powers that come with his office, Donald Kipkorir notes that Kindiki has not taken advantage of the position to cut deals as has been the case with his predecessors.
“He is Minister for Security yet he has never travelled to the US, Italy, UK, France, China, Jordan, India or Israel to cut deals! In fact, he has never left the country since he was made a Minister,” the lawyer noted.
“Every Minister for Security since Independence became a Billionaire but none lived long to enjoy their money. I guess Kithure Kindiki doesn’t want the curse of stolen money to follow him,” he added.
In addition, Kipkorir argues that Kindiki is “a true embodiment of servant leadership.”
In the run-up to the 2022 general election, the former Senate Deputy Speaker was in contention to deputise now-President William Ruto.
He was however edged out on the last minute by Rigathi Gachagua, at the time the Mathira Member of Parliament.
